Signature Class

In 1990, community leaders rallied around the idea to establish a community leadership program and developed the Signature Class based on other successful leadership programs across the country. Leadership Medina County’s Signature Class brings together cross-industry, established leaders who reflect the diversity of Medina County.  It provides an opportunity to cultivate new relationships and explore complex county and regional issues.  At the end of the class, alumni are poised to have increased impact through their civic engagement.

The program runs from September until May. Class size is limited to 40 individuals.  Tuition is $2,200. Certificates will be issued to each participant upon completion of the program.

Please note:  Invoices for the $2,200 non-refundable tuition will be issued with notification of acceptance.  DO NOT send payment with application.

Applicants must live or work in Medina County to apply. Following the application, applicants will be contacted for an interview with a selection committee member.

Please complete the following form to apply for the next Signature Program beginning in September. This is part one of a three part process including: Application, Employer Agreement Form, and an Interview.

What is the time commitment?

  • Two-day, overnight opening retreat in September
  • Eleven sessions (September – May)
  • Closing retreat and graduation in May
  • Participation in a class project

Participation

In order to accomplish the program’s stated objectives, attendance and full participation of each individual selected is necessary.  Participants must be able to commit to the full class schedule below and class project.  However, we realize that “life happens” sometimes.  Therefore, we do allow for one excused absence per class year.  More than one absence could disqualify a program participant from graduating from the program.  Orientation/Opening Retreat and Graduation are mandatory.
